At the end of The Keys to the Spanish House the villain known as the Wolf is recovering after his head injury and shooting. His old criminal masters send a new assassin to deal with him. He realises he has to escape, but he is at his lowest physical state, weak and chained to a hospital bed, under close Police guard. But his instinct is for survival.

How can he escape?

This taut, tight, novella of  21,000 words relates the intense, psychological predicament the villain is facing, as he revisits his evil past in an interview with a detective prior to trial. Can he draw strength from his evil past to escape?
